Custom Gridfinity grid

A modular grid makes bins easier to move and replace. Before choosing compartments, check how many cells actually fit in your drawer.

4.2 cm cells: a practical example

EForm's grid pitch is 42 mm, or 4.2 cm. A free 50 × 30 cm rectangle theoretically holds 11 × 7 cells: these occupy 46.2 × 29.4 cm, leaving 3.8 cm in width and 0.6 cm in depth. This calculation excludes edge clearance: confirm the actual cell count in the configurator using the drawer's internal dimensions.

Do not round cell counts up to fill the remainder. That space may help you remove the grid or accommodate non-parallel walls. EForm shows available space: check it before adding bins.

Drawer grid and print bed

Drawer size and printable size are different constraints. Select your printer in EForm: the parts must fit its usable volume. A large drawer needs more modules and prints, not necessarily one large piece.

If you do not own a printer, you can still design the layout and choose 3DForge printing in the summary.

Bins and compatibility

The grid follows Gridfinity pitch, but nominal pitch alone does not guarantee a fit with all third-party accessories. Check base dimensions, foot profile and tolerances. For an existing printed part, testing a small module avoids printing the entire grid straight away.

Choose an open bin for groups of objects that change often. Use a photo-based insert for a dedicated recess for one object.
